If anything is wrong you are covered? Uh..........................NOPE.

If PCNA deems that something is "wrong" is due to something other than defect, then no dice. For example, water damage. Not covered. Abuse, not covered, Accident related, not covered. See where this is covered.

Personally, I wouldn't go near it. If you can "afford" 64K then 70-75 is affordable. If not, then trust me, you don't want this car. It is not cheap to own and over-extending yourself to buy this car is not smart. You try to re-sell it and you will see why it is has been for sale for so long right now.

What if the motor goes and they deny claim b/c of previous history? There's 30K you'll never see again

So the question is, do need a car like this? No. But do you want a car like this? Oh yeah

What's your realistic "affordable" budget???

That's only 6 months remaining on the warranty and I agree with Dell regarding what will and won't be covered (don't hold your breath on anything expensive).

Better to spend a few extra $'s and get one without the really questionable history IMO.

sigh... i would say if it was just a paint matching problem you could take care of it. but this report implies a signfiicant accident!

you don't get what you pay for, you get what you negotiate. you win some you loose some. My 993 was a great deal. so one never knows. Maybe some crackhead owning a decent gt3 needs cash....and I will be waiting.

Moral of the story (at least to me) is: even the "experts" make some really bad mistakes. A new car dealer, with a shop at its disposal, should have caught this story before trading it. For the appraiser to miss obvious body/paintwork and not put the car on a lift is beyond dumb.

The car fax on flood is a bunch of crap. All cars sold out of Loisianna had flood on the the reports...all the lawsuits or complaints removed this. Carfax just wanted to protect potential buyers. this is way it was removed.

If its just paint, Im ok, if there is bondo or tub work, well this purchase will not be made.
I've also heard about this from some other source. Interesting but a bit scary. If it's just paint, it should be ok. I've my bumper and fender repainted because of small incident with the guardrail.

im not upset, just discouraged that the dealer should have figured this out. Im always looking for a deal, and understand sometimes its ok, and sometimes its not. one can pay full price, and still get burned. when the right car comes along, It will all work out. this is a want, not a need.

I continue to drive my 993 and enjoy. I turn over cars quite a bit, so when I can get a deal, enjoy for some period and then sell it, and move on, it's fun. This has been the way I have been living for the last 15 years. so I don't want to pay full list on a car. its the fun in it all, for me.

Carfax would be very grateful if you reported the findings of the PPI. So would the next potential buyer.
