Default So, I spun and hit the guard rail.

Happened at 2 AM in the rain. For those who live in NoVA/DC area, it was on the ramp from 495 South to 66 East. It's an uphill exit that also turns right. SUV decided to exit at last minute. So, I let off to let him/her in because it's wet and I can't see properly. Speed was about 65ish.

EXACTLY like this happened, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZpJYWe8s0A

And, exit look exactly like that (I'll take a picture of the exit when I can tomorrow so that you guys would believe) and spin was exactly like it but in slower motion and less violent.

Car didn't start right away after the spin. I had to sit there and tried to start her up again for awhile. It was quite scary because cars on the freeway weren't stopping.

Passenger side headlight, bumper and part of the passenger side fender is damaged.

Will take more pictures tomorrow. Sorry for the crappy photos. It was wet and dark. Was taking these pictures just before the rain the other day.

Glad you are still in one piece - the main requirement.

Remember it's just a car -one that bites QUICKLY - especially in the wet. Get it fixed, respect it more, spend time on a skidpan, and enjoy it.

You are of course not alone - I got mine sideways (big time) on Sunday after a wet patch before the corner (and I was only doing about 30km/h (15 odd mph) with my mother in the car next to me (idling along) - so you can imagine the response I got from her. Thought for a second I would clip the pavement on the front (facing it head on) but I got lucky (skidpan time helps) and got it all back together. This will teach me to pay attention ALWAYS when driving it, and not think it won't bite at slow speeds - it does.

I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune. On the sunny side, it looks like the damage is minor and you're A.O.K. I'd take a good look at that right front radiator, though.

What's really sad is that NOBODY STOPPED TO CHECK ON YOU! Geez.

Cheers

I'm looking for RS bumper now. Anyone know the best place to order it? Thanks! Car drives fine and when I recheck everything, seems like I would only need bumper, lip, one headlight and fender.

Thanks! I was thinking the same why people won't stop. I guess they cannot be bothered since it was raining, dark and right on the middle of the freeway. Two car barely missed me. They passed me so close and fast that you guys have no idea. And, another mini-Van almost ran me over. Several cars slowed down but by the time they did, they are wayy passed me.

I got my RS bumper from Austin (then at Devek and now at TRG). Suggest you check with him at The Racers Group.

That part of the Eau Rouge looks to be a negative camber turn.

Whenever i see a porsche stopped i stop. Usually the driver isnt in need of help, but its always fun to check out the car. I stopped for a Cayenne once....guy had blown his V6!

Good luck on getting your ride fixed, it doesnt look like it will be THAT hard to fix.

Ah, how I know that ramp well. My family's place is at 123 and the toll road. If I was there I could probably hear the tire squeal

The bright side is now it's time to get the RS front!

Get the RS nose and rear wing to keep the car balanced.
