Default type of coolant to use

I'm a little low on coolant and want to add some this weekend but all the local porsche dealers are closed. Any recommendations for non-oem coolant to use?

The engine cooling system is pressurized and you will probably do more harm than good trying to top it off. Do you still have coolant visible in the resevoir?

Fill it up with water a bit over minimum and let them measure with a refractometer at you dealership to get the right level?

Btw, any particular reason why you're low on coolant?

Yes, there's coolant in the resevoir still, about a 3/4" inch below the minimum line. I had a 3rd radiator installed and there's a small leak up front. I want to drive the car over the weekend some before I take it back to the shop next week.

The engine coolant system is pressurized and if you add coolant then you need to bleed the system correctly to ensure you don't have air pockets. In an emergency it wouldn't hurt to to just top it off but as soon as possible you want to get the system bled to ensure proper cooling capacity.

Full bled of coolant would necessitate going thru the time/tedious effort fo repressuring th system. You won't have an issue just topping off it. Mike

Probably correct except he thinks he has a leak up front, so his system needs proper attention anyway.
