JZ Alcon to freeze or not to freeze, that is the question?

I am thinking of replacing my worn GT3 front rotors with the JZ Alcons. Do you think that there would there be any advantage to getting them frozen before installation?

I didn't bother, but up you. Never heard any convincing argument that freezing helps. I know a lot of people tried it with the OEM disks and it didn't make enough difference to last an extra trackday. Maybe the alcons which last 15 days + (and counting) would get you an extra day?

There's no denying they have lasted significantly longer than non-cyro'd stock rotors. One possible reason may be that I make a concerted effort to cool them down now after I come in. I pretty much always bring them in smoking so my help can take hot temps, but now I try to find a open section of road/paddock where I can cool them down for a minute or two before parking it. Perhaps this signifcantly helps rotor life too...

My JZ Alcons have lasted over 20 trackdays, and they're only marginally worn (using Pagid RS29 pads). I believe the steel is already specially treated by Alcon - although it would be worth giving Steve a call as he designed them to spec with Alcon. Brilliant discs - best on the market imho.

After the PCCBs on my GT2 destroyed themselves at 14,000miles and one trackday...according to Porsche I overused used them !!...I fitted the series 2 Alcons from JZMachtech on all 4 corners....brilliant!! Just cool after hot laps..seem to be lasting very very well.

Brembo 2pc GT3R rotors from CDOC now have 8 days on them and they look great. I expect I may get 15 or more days on them. I was only getting 4-5 days on my cup rotors.
