Have you ever joined a 'Drift Training'
Last weekend I joined a 'Drift Training' with my GT3 on Bosch's test track in southern Germany. Well, there is no real sense in that, but it was great fun!
About 80 cars showed up, incl. a Carrera GT, 997 GT3RS's, F430, F360, Venturi (1000kg, 600hp)....
I am sure the tire manufacturers support such kind of events. My rear tires were already near the limits before the event started, but now you can see the white carcass in some spots... Time for a new set.
Here are some impressions (the first pix are from an event in France last saturday we joined with the Boxster):

This is what winter is for here in Canada. Plenty of "dorifto" opportunities at very low speeds.
Winter tires are a must, though.
And if the weather is relatively dry you can still slide a lot as the roads are thoroughly salted.
The only problem is that nobody sane would do that here with a GT3. This is what the M3 is for
