Something is screwed up here. I was running GT3 ducts (.91) and ordered RS ducts (.92) as I thought they were better, like the cup. They are differett and smaller! Opposite of what I expected. I ordered another set of the GT3 ones to see the difference.

So then which are the "large" ducts? I want to make sure I order the correct ones. To be honest, I had no idea we had 3 options available to us.

Is this the way it is?
Small=RS
Med=OEM
Large=Cup

Here, let me confuse everyone further. Got my GT3 RS ducts today. They are VERY similar to the GT3 ducts- very. In fact, my Porsche ordered and wrapped GT3 RS ducts had a .91 part number on them. Hmmm.
They were modified from the GT3 ducts in two areas but with NO additions. I asked why they were not a .92 part number but no one seemed to have any idea. I am left to assume Porsche does take a stock GT3 .91 part number, tweak it by removing some edges on the duct and wrap it for dealer distribution as an RS duct. The tech felt it was modified solely to provide wheel clearance on the RS. Don't know, what's the RS got for wheels? I guess more precisely, what does an RS lose in inside wheel clearance?
At the end of the day, like I said before, I was missing one upon purchase. The .91, modified GT3 and now called "RS" ducts are on the car and I have a spare GT3 duct now.
Clear as mud. Which incidentally, is probably why I was missing one. The previous owner undoubtably visited a car wash. The inside of two wheels were scraped along with the missing cooling duct. A GT3 in a car wash? Yikes.

Good to know that it isn't just me!

So from this description, the Cups are the biggest - though not by much... I leave it up to the reader to decide what works best on the track... Between my cup rotors, cup ducts, SRF fluid & RS19s - I am much more content that rotor burn & pad disintegration will be much less than last year!

Thanks for the update CT03911!

I still want to see photos of these things mounted! ...or at least a description. Are they attached to the undertray or the A-arms? Maybe if I post pics of the Sportec ducts I installed on my car it will prompt one of you to post pics of your ducts.

I promise to send pics when I can get the 3 on a lift... I was kicked out of the shop at the PCar dealer by the service manager, so wasn't able to get the pics that you asked for. We had snow here yesterday, so I need a few more days for the driveway to clear...

amond, Do you have a part # on those 997 cup ducts? I would buy a box full at that price if for real.

I just removed my Cup ducts as they scrape everywhere and I consider the Cup ducts un-usable if the car is used for anything more than track duty.

Johannes makes a great point. I just measured the front spoiler at their lowest point from the ground = 4.75". The Cup Ducts at their lowest point = 2.25". Whoa!

I plan to jack up the car this weekend to 1) take pics AND 2) measure the ground clearance for both the Cups Ducts and Stock Ducts... More to come...

Yep, the cup ducts have lower clearence than the stock ducts and have a solid flange across the bottom vs. the kind of perforated flange on the stock piece that is more compliant. When I had TRG throw them on I was warned about this. I haven't had much of a problem on the street with them at this point but I can see the potential for increased scrapeage.
But TRG says they provide 20% more air flow than the stock ducts and I like the idea of keeping my brakes as cool as possible. It was also a relatively cheap upgrade.

That sounds about right. I need to verify, but they look like they hang about .5-1" lower than the stock ducts... That could account for the 20% increase in airflow...

I'm beginning to feel embarrassed about questioning the Cup Ducts' improvements over stock... I suspect that the mouting point may be different, so want to verify this weekend... I'll post pictures...

Great timing for me! I've got a set waiting for me across the line and I'll be installing them soon. Take plenty of pics.

Cheers,
