I just finished up converting over to steels from PCCB.
996 GT3 Cup rotors and 97 PF pads for the front.
997 GT3 Cup rotors and 01 PF pads for the rear.
I also have on order 996 Cup brake ducts for the front.

01 dust is rumored to be less harmful than that of 97, but in my experience with 01 pads wheels must be cleaned off as soon as they cool. In the case of rain driving, at least the outward face of the wheels need to be cleaned when you get back to the paddock or you risk permanent deposits on your wheels.

..or just get a set of track wheels and take off the stuff that's not permanently set into the wheel finish every now and then.

I have run both 97 and 01 compound with my Kinesis rims...Never hurt them at all...of course I did coat them with Rejex...I really haven't seen any PFC dust damage rims around here...and alot of people are running them...I will say that when you switch from Pagid to PFC the initial run will burn off the old Pagid material and that combo is nasty stuff....

Be sure to give us an evaluation on the performance and durability of the rotors after you get some track time with them.

Run the 01s on our racecars and my GT3. The racecars have BBS wheels and the GT3 has Kinesis K28s. So far there hasn't been any residue on the wheels that is hard to get off. The wheels on the cars just wipe clean with soap and water. No problems at all.

As for rotor wear with the 01s I haven't seen anything more than normal with track abuse. The PFC rotors on my car are a lot better than the stock rotors as far as taking the abuse of the track. They are not cross drilled so there isn't any holes that cracks form from. Cooling hasn't been an issue with them so far either.

My @.02

Just as the others have said, the PFC are more gentle than the Pagid.

They are more 'pleasant' and less abrupt.

They are GOOD. (I use the 97; never tried the 01.)

Rob,
Planning to do the same conversion this winter. Interested in your experience with those pads. What wheels are you running (rims) ? Planning to run Forgelines next year and am curious about brake dust.

I'm running the stock rims with Michelin Cups.
