Default Anyone running 18x9 up front?

Looking for input for the widest wheel size for the front. I am thinking about an 18x9 ET52 in the front.

Anyone have experience running that width in the front? Clearance issues, etc? use a spacer to push it out about 5-7 mm?

Thanks in advance.

Below is what I used to run on the track without any clearance issues. I have the SX3s on the car for street use, but use the stock size tires.
Forgelines SX3-R
9x18 ET 49, 245/40 -18
11x18 ET 64, 305/30-18

ltcjmramos,

Thanks for the input and confirmation of what you are using. It sounds like my ET52 would be sitting only 3mm further inboard should not be an issue. If it is then a simple small spacer 3mm will place the wheel exactly where you have yours.

...with a special offset. Also, he seems blessed with a GT3 that doesn't have rubbing issues like some other folks have had with identical (older) setups. Apparently our cars are not all created equal....

This info is from way too much reading of older posts.

Cheers,

It's realy in the set-up... I was running a 265 tire on the front no problems. I now use a 9" rim with 245's. I run at Mosport and do not have a problem with understeer...it's all about rear end grip.

Just curious, why 52 offset? Why not something closer to the standard wheel offset - say 39-41 or so? New at this so just trying to get my head around the offset calculations for 18x9, potential issues, etc.
