Default variety pack of questions

What's under the black dome under the hood up front, to the left of the brake resevoir as you look in there?

If you add a roll bar is the car street legal? Full cage?

How many of you have been happy with the stock alignment on the street vs track?

Stock brakes come with what for pads?

thanks

I was wondering the same thing. Even my friends point out that thing in pictures and ask me.

I just say it's "secret porsche stuff".

1. Don't know what's under the dome. I haven't been sworn in by the Trilateral Commission yet.

2. The bar should be street legal. Although I remember something in someone's post about different states having inspections every year.

3. Get a proper alignment by a race shop, not the dealer. This is very important with this car.

4. Stock pads are Pagid P-90's (yellow in color). Search for brake pads and get thousands of posts, but the most common after market pads are as follows:

a. Pagid rs19's on all 4 corners (Yellow in color)
b. Pagid rs29's on all 4 corners. (Yellow in color)
c. Pagid rs19's on the front and rs 14's on the rear. (14's are black in color)
d. latest debate is CF? pads recommended by the race shops.

1.- You will find a pretty good looking black plastic fuel tank in a reduced 16.6 gallons size. You can fit a 23.77 gallons fuel tank for longer trips or track sessions.

If memory serves, my Porsche tech told me that there is nothing under there in the GT3 but in the other cars, it was for either fuel sender or fuel pump access (can't remember which).

Hey, not a big deal BUT..... I'm amazed!!- All you ocd type guys and I ask a simple question about what is under the black dome under your hood and there is no agreement??!!
I get three "don't knows", one "fuel tank", two "maybe sensors/pumps". I'm surprised that all you guys haven't unscrewed that cover and figured it out or asked a dealer's service shop.
Hey, c'mon, there a s***load I don't know but every pic I see of the GT3 with the hood up I'm immediately thinking what could be under there?
I know, maybe if I bought one instead of trolling around thinking about it, I could look myself, right? :-)

On my car (2004 911 GT3) with that plastic dome removed by loosening four 10mm nuts, a black plastic 16.6 gallons fuel tank sits underneath, inside that fuel tank there's a fuel pump and a tank gauge sensor.

NJ,
Is it possible to remove the US 16 gal tank and replace it with the ROW 24 gal tank?
How hard is it? Dose the trip ( Gas milage, trip distance etc..) needs to be changed so the computer is aware that a full tank is 24 gal and not 16.6 gal ?
