You are correct about that. The Schroth Ralley line of harnesses are DOT approved and the only ones that I am aware of that are.

I used these in one of my street cars years ago and as they are four point, they are very easy to get in and out of. They also had a single teather in the back hooked to an inertia reel to make them even easier to get into as you didn't have to fuss with the shoulder straps. After you got into the harness, you would throw a dash mounted switch and it would lock the reel solid so the shoulder straps were tight. Not what I would want to use on the race track but by far the finest street approved harness and as easy to use as a 3 point save for the extra step of flipping the switch.

911 Addict,

I have the the Brey-Krause harness mount with Schroth belts with the Euro GT3 seats. I understand the hard core trackers advocate full roll bar and hans device. However in speaking with the porsche guy that I work with that has extensive racing experience and setting up cars, he suggested this set up based on my experience and minimal rollover chances. I know that others will disagree, however I think it is personal decision based on what you feel are your risk etc..

Please explain.
My couple of years old Schroth Profi-II are six point with push buton release, they're also FIA approved for racing. What's wrong with them so that you wouldn't use them on the track?

BTW, I don't know about Florida laws whether 6 points are illegal or not.

Rich, I have a roll bar.

Below is a pixture of the belts I have (except that the ones on the pic show only four points.

with air bag technology I would expect that harness would not be as safe and you can not safely drive public roads to get the performance benefit from the harness.

Sorry, I should have been more careful with my words...I personally would not use a push button style release on the track as I far prefer cam lock harnesses. They feel more secure to me (harder to release accidently).

Obviously, there is nothing wrong or unsafe about a push button style release.

Are you fast enough?

If you try and are few milliseconds too slow, you end up head-butting directly to the deer's forehead...

That's the better plan!

BTW, as I'm sure many of you knows, 997 GT3 RS with clubsport package comes with 6-point harness.
