I had a PSS (power steering seal failure), fixed in few minutes under warranty.
The FMS and RMS are easy jobs, and they have been covered by Porsche even for cars out of warranty.
An RMS replacement, is a good opportunity to inspect the Clutch, and perform a Cup car vent upgrade, LWFW upgrade, re-gear, at cheaper cost.

Clutch work is a good idea since the engine is already dropped and PAG is covering the labor.

I saw your post on page 1 that you had it at 39k. Mine is also 39k car. Hope dealer fix it under warranty. I've trackday this weekend and just dropped the car off tonight. Pink circle is where the oil are soaked everywhere. Also, anyone know what that canister pointed by a green arrow? There are two, one on each side of the cylinder bank. I see most of the oil around that thing. Thanks. By the way, picture was taken after my coolent problem. Nothing to do with this leak.

Nevermind. It's call soilnoid. I belive it's for variocam. Mine's leaking from there. Not from RMS or FMS. $216 part and the clip. 996.105.303.71 and 999.707.504.40.

Datax - It looks from your picture that you got off easy! I am still cleaning up the white specs from my coolant leak last summer. It kinda pissed me off because the engine bay looked brand new when it happened. I have put a lot of sweat equity into that bay since!
Regarding this topic, a print out of the history from my dealer pre-purchase indicated an RMS seal replacement at 1K miles. No problems whatsoever under my ownership.

I dont know off hand but I think you got quoted for the wrong solenoid, I replaced a set of those a short while ago and they were 600$ a piece or so.

Thanks. I'm gonna have to double check on that. Believe there are more than one type of solenoid on the car and that part number is what came up from the dealer.
