Default 996 GT3 Muffler Bypass pipes?

Have any of you guys that have done this mods seen any hp gains? Any CEL's? I know you loose a few lb's in the right spot. How many? Any other positives besides the sound? Any sound clips? Thanks in advance.

It is way loud. I go to Phoenix once or twice a mnth. If you like I can bring mine down and you can try it out. PM me if you like.

Totally agree that its way loud. It just takes some time to get used to the loudness. You'll defiinitely shed a considerable amount of weight off, but not too sure how much HP are gained. Maybe others who have dyno'd could tell us. But overall, I'm happy with it.

That would be great. My old 993 was catless and I thougt it sounded great. My Gt3 is very quiet in comparison.

Very loud, but I like it.

Probably no HP gains. No CEL's.

I pulled out the mufflers & brackets, which I'm guessing together weigh ~60 pounds.

Other benefit IMO is a cooler engine compartment after eliminating 2 big heat sinks (no data to back this up, just an opinion).

My car is currently configured with FabSpeed Muffler Bypass pipes and stock cats. 45 lbs weight reduction (-50 lbs on the muffler + 5 lbs on the bypass pipes).

They're loud, but when the car is at the track, it sounds great. Everybody comes to tell you the car sounds great. 20 degrees cooler engine compartment temperatures after a track session.

If you want light weight then bypass are the way to go. But if you want sound go get the Europipe XLoud.
I had the dealer install my bypass pipes and one drive around the block I told them to take them off. They sound sh*t, IMO. I love loud but the bypass' don't even sound nice.

I had my car dyno'd right after Rockitman (where did he go anyway?) at AWE and his car made 372 RWHP (optimistic dyno) with the Europipe exhaust system. Mine made 387 with the stock exhaust and only the bypass pipes. The only thing we knew for certain is that mine made 15 more hp than his. You can search this forum for that thread.

At the track is fantastic. On the way to and from the track is another ........

It's not so bad if you keep it under 85....just how fast are you going to and from the track Kevin?
