Cosmos,

I might be convinced to part with a car: CS, GT-3 RS (clone - with tons of goodies), GT-2, GT-3 cup car with tons of spares........ summer clearance specials ???

Really? Already? Smart man for not getting married. Lack of commitment there will really cost you.

Nice fleet!

PM me on the Cup car and the spares if you are interested in selling it.

So what are the import rules these days? I too was considering bringing a 996 GT3 RS to the US in a couple years from now? Isn't there a relaxed DOT standard for importing five year old models?

Default Another Possibility?

Any interest out there for a street-legal GT3 Cup car? My car was a brand new 2004 GT3 (i.e. 996 version) that was stripped and converted to 2005 GT3 Cup car specs (except for the engine - remains stock with a different chip).

My car is presently licensed for street use in Canada and as far as I know, it is the only street-legal GT3 Cup car in North America. Send me a message if you are really interested.

Uh, except that it's not a Cup, it's a clone.

Post some pics.

If you are looking for a car to track a lot, I bet you end up dissapointed with the experience provided by a CS. Performance aside, one thing that the GT3 has, by a wide margin, over the CS, is duarability.

The Fcars just cost expenentially more to keep running on the track than what they already cost to keep on the road. And it could be even less expensive to flog a GT3 all summer on a track than it could be to just keep a CS on the road.

Pads and rotors on the CS for example, are something like $30k. That's rediculus.

Wow that's crazy! You must love 3 point turns- the turning radius of a gt3 cup is like an oil tanker. And enjoy replacing the brake ducts and spoiler lip that rip off if you drive over a thick paint line... these things are TERRIBLE at speeds under 50 MPH, I don't know how you could drive a GT3 cup chassis on the street. At least you don't have the constantly knocking transmission/clutch that comes with the racing clutch if you have the stock engine.

This got me thinking of the RS, and if there were any available here in the States.
Cosmos, why not buy mine and pimp it out? The price is right! :-)
