So what are the import rules these days? I too was considering bringing a 996 GT3 RS to the US in a couple years from now? Isn't there a relaxed DOT standard for importing five year old models?

Any interest out there for a street-legal GT3 Cup car? My car was a brand new 2004 GT3 (i.e. 996 version) that was stripped and converted to 2005 GT3 Cup car specs (except for the engine - remains stock with a different chip).
My car is presently licensed for street use in Canada and as far as I know, it is the only street-legal GT3 Cup car in North America. Send me a message if you are really interested.

Uh, except that it's not a Cup, it's a clone.
Post some pics.

If you are looking for a car to track a lot, I bet you end up dissapointed with the experience provided by a CS. Performance aside, one thing that the GT3 has, by a wide margin, over the CS, is duarability.
The Fcars just cost expenentially more to keep running on the track than what they already cost to keep on the road. And it could be even less expensive to flog a GT3 all summer on a track than it could be to just keep a CS on the road.
Pads and rotors on the CS for example, are something like $30k. That's rediculus.

This got me thinking of the RS, and if there were any available here in the States.![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
