Default GT2 trunk temperature

Now that I have lived with the GT2 for a while, I noticed that the trunk lid near the latch area, as well as the trunk itself, are quite a bit hotter than the Turbo.

It is not burning your hands hot, but it is more than warm.

Is this normal due to the less insulation? Different radiator placement? Or is my car needing an el doctor visit?

Thanks.

This was a surprise to me too. When I take my son to school, 5 miles, his bookbag in the trunk is almost to hot to carry. Forget putting groceries up there.

Nice color.

Well, I guess it falls under "they all do that" category.

Thanks.

My GT3 gets so hot that I can't touch my bag if I put it up there for too long. With the carpet stripped out of the trunk, it is hot enough to burn yourself on the metal in the trunk front!

Default Hot Trunk - GT3

Yep it gets hot...damn hot.
I suggest you make the best of it and perhaps look into some slow cook recipies for the ride - have a picknick and enjoy perhaps beef stroganof out of trunk.
N ot good for holding ice or beer.

Stuka,

I think the problem is because you have a hot car!

I will try leaving my turkey sandwich that my wife packs me in there in the morning. By the time I get to work it should be nice and marinated by the pepper jack cheese that will then be melted.

OK, no cold beer, no raw fish, no groceries. Oh well, small sacrifice compares to PSM, AWD, and sunroof.

I have clearbra, so I think it lowers the temp just a slight bit where it doesn't burn.

OK, so the next time that I do the Death Valley cannon ball run, I will wrap some raw beef in Al foil for slow cooking.

Great to keep takeout warm. Or if you want seared ahi instead of sashimi by the time you get home...
