watt,

As much as you like to pick on 12 year olds, if your son's sense of humor is any indication of his driving skills (even though he's still a few years short of 12), he is going to smoke you up the canyons in the GT2. That kid has a seriously sharp sense of humor. If you send him to school on the east coast (like someplace in Ithaca or Cambridge), you're going to dull it!

Top 5 Reasons Why Wiley is a Better GT2 Driver than His Dad:

1) His small feet will be better for heel and toeing.
2) Little kids are always more courageous
3) He doesn't need a stogie while driving thereby being able to concentrate on the road better
4) His car seat provides a more snug fit than the standard sport seat or the GT3 seat. Unfortunately, not many adults can fit into it.
5) His sharp wit is a good indication of his decision making skills when trying to form a racing line

tyson,
i did see him shred you in your m5 with his 53 buick roadmaster. i know that makes you touchy. he wants to go to berkeley.

seriously tho' he'll blow my doors off soon enuf. right now i'm talking safety and what can go wrong... he can go fast last.

great to see you this w/e, even if Wiley outshredded and outjoked you. we'll light up a Cubano when you get back, call.

ps SY is Wiley's favourite colour; as he says: they don't call it Speed Seal Grey for a reason!

Very nice. When it gets down to it, there is a reason Porsche sells so many Artic Silver cars. Great looking go-kart!!!

Tis a valentine. I just dropped the car off at AI Design here in Westchester to have them do a "stealth" install; the display is installed in the rear view mirror; the receiver is hidden in a leather covered box. I've had this done numerous times with k-40 radar systems, but i thought i'd step up to the valentine. They will also add some k-40 deflectors, front and rear. Their site is www.aidesign.com Click on new products and scroll down to the link for complete radar system for ferrari 550/575. That's the ticket. (hhmHmmm).

hmmm. it looked to small to be a valentine.
i know for CT you might want stealth install, i used to just take it down when it went off. and i change cars too often for stealth.

bill, i used to enjoy running the merritt and the 95 into general foods in westchester/rye in my 930 just slightly over the limit 16-19 years ago when i lived in Stamford. generally misbehaved on the merritt the entire time.... tsk, tsk, tsk.

Merrritt is nice, but a big cop hang-out. The highways are generally taboo, now, although i'm sure it wasn't that way 20 years ago here. The lower Taconic, six lanes divided, well banked and surfaced, is ideal. But, its also an invitation to jail. I try to run the backroads, which means going further away from Westchester, up on into Dutchess, etc. The run to Watkins Glen along 17 is also a blast; ditto near Bear Mtn., where i have been working on my motorcycle riding technique (i just picked up that habit a year ago).
I hate dealing with things hanging or mounted loosely in a car, with wires, etc. In addition to not wanting the cops to see the detector, it just makes for a better driving experience for me, but i'm a little compulsive.
Malibu must be really bad. I love northern cal. Have done the PCH in the Big Sur area a couple times in hi-performance cars, use the Post Ranch Inn as my HQ. Maybe i'll just have to aim the nose of this thing west and see if i can get to the desert in less than 30 hrs. Regards.

it's much freer here; if you are smooth you are invisible in the 85-110 range on freeways still, and of course there's clear spots to 130 in LA, and 150 in the boonies. wilbur of course ignores this and probably spends the most time of all of us trolling for jail. and the guys would argue that SY is not invisible [but they don't know about the phase shift]....

but we work the mountains and back roads as well. i remember the taconic as a prefect gt2 road, and north greenwich and stamford are excellent. and i used to run 17 to Ithaca [81 being the worst for cops], what a great gt2 road!!!!!

the post ranch is a good spot but the new ventana is better. and when i moved out here, i did it 32 hours driving time [not sustained] in 84 930!!! younger and much higher profile...

bill,
you should consider "the correct" gt3 seats for your car. all the best!!!!

Billhart,

Route 17 going up to Binghamton off 84...it's a bit far for a sunday drive...but a gorgeous road (elevation changes, smooth road, and some great sweepers) with great scenary.

As I'm sure you know...the saw mill is a fun road. The taconic as you get north of yorktown/route 6 area turns into a great road. As you get up near albany it gets to be too rough for my tastes, though. The lower part of the taconic is boring! Just straight cruising with a few little curves...That's a Mercedes S600 road, not a GT2 road!!

Where in westchester are you? I'm near Katonah. Once you get off 684 exit 6 (or the end of the saw mill going north)...I'm about 10 minutes away from there.

Hey Adrial: We live in Irvington, between Tarrytown and Dobbs Ferry. Soon to be moving to Grandview, on the other side of the Hudson. Know Katonah pretty well. Often take 100 up, hang a right on 35, hang a right on 22, etc. The lower Taconic is essentially a drag strip with a huge run-off, but it is a jail invite for sure, and i've slowed down in my old age, so....
The road running in front of Caramoor is great, i always wave to Martha. Raced Ralph Lauren on those roads a couple years ago, not seriously, but, in good fun. Yep, the Saw Mill can be a hoot, but lots of repressed Mr. McGoo types on that road, unwilling to give way or stay right. Happy to meet you for a coffee and a drive, or something... Regards.

btw,
3 new t-shirts for gt2 owners have just been shipped:

To Colm:

"real men commute in their gt2's."

except for Josh, of course:

"real gt2 owners take the bus to work"

and Arnuad:

" GT2, a TT without training wheels"
