Wow, I wonder what the story is on this car. If it's real and there are no stories that's a deal.

Looks like the seller is some sort of dealer.

Hey, if it wasn't dinged too badly that's a terrific start for a club racer.

It's credible that the car is fine and it's just a buyer's market. I've been watching that happen for 6 months on a variety of things. Consider that the 997 is being ordered now. What's the used car industry going to do then - when people start selling 996 to buy the 997? I can't believe how many 996GT3s are already on the market. Some great deals in the 80's including cage, seats, harnesses, etc.

Well, I love my RSA, but if the price gets down to $60K for a white one, I'm going back to the GT3s.

Try getting a 997 before the end of the year, it isn't going to happen. The new 997 GT3 is 106K plus options + sales tax is still going to create a heathly secondary market for used GT3s with no sunroofs.

When you look at Autotrader and eBay, it just feels like there are more listings than ever for the 996. If you look at completed auctions, you'll see that not a single car has sold. Just curious is all.

For me it's not about the savings - if the 997 GT3 came as I wanted it - without a sunroof and cruise control, I'd be going ahead. But right now it's a "wait and see" - perhaps between consumers, dealers, and the press, Porsche may somehow certify the car without a sunroof. If not, then it looks like 996 GT3 for me. Fortunately, I'm in no big hurry as my M3 is plenty capable.

I've talked to dealers who say that Ebay often doesn't sell the car for them, but it does generate a ton of leads for them. I've been watching the ebay GT3 market for a while now and I've seen a decrease in the number of auctions since March.

I just ran the Carfax...It had a major accident earlier this year and Carfax is showing frame and unibody damage though apparently not a salvage title. It has 4 or 5 owners and been auctioned 3 times.....

I'm sure they just inadvertantly left that little bit of history off their add. Of course they're going to tell anyone too stupid to run a report......

Here's the jerk's e-mail if you'd like to tell him how slimy he appears....
