Default Just bought an 04 GT3!!!! :)

Well I can not put into words the excitement I feel right now. Just got back from purchasing an 04 Gt3 with 9k miles on it. It is black on black with a couple minor options(just the way I wanted it). The car used to have cermaic brakes but the owner changed them out for porsche motorsport cup brakes up front. I will be doing a lot of track days and also will be racing it in PCA, SCCA, NASA so next week it goes in for the first stages of track set up. This car is absolutely amazing though. The power is endless and the handling is just so damn percise. Coming from a 400hp 944 turbo and having driven other 911s(mostly 993s) on the track, I am just BLOWN away by the GT3. I will post a review after the first track day but for now all I can say is WOW!!!! I am excited to be a part of the club now Thank you to all of you who put up with my newbie questions about the GT3! I really appreciate all the help!!!

Congratulations! Drive it like its meant to be (I'm sure you will).

It's always good to know these cars found their way into enthusiast's hands.

Thanks Tom for the help along the way. This car will def be driven how it was meant to be driven
I could not imagine driving her any other way. I would have set her up for the autobahn country club race this weekend but I am going to do a couple lapping days before I take her out wheel to wheel. Its always good to get familiar with the car before going that hard into it. I will try to do you porsche guys proud in SCCA even though the vettes are unbeatable in T1.

Congrats! I picked mine up a few weeks ago now and just love it. I still haven't had the time to really unwind her yet or visit the track but such is life!

BTW, Got the car set up ASAP, I think that I will have time to get mine done on Monday. It is a major improvement!

One year and 8 months later, I'm still having a blast in my MKII GT3.

Congratulations.

- Contact ViperBob to get rear 997 GT3 Cup steel rotors, and save the rear PCCB. Direct swap and they work with the handbrake.

- Regardless of how good it feels, do an alignment preferably on a Porsche race shop. Check the toe and camber eccentric bolts, if any sign of wear is present, replace them.

Another one going to the right hands. Enjoy...

I'm on my second set of bolts.... my first set had two bolts that no longer had any thread on them - I wondered why my alignment felt funny....

thanks guys. I made an appointment for early next week to get it set up so I can get some seat time before the first race. I will have the alignment done to the correct specs and have everything done right. My shop sets up tons of porsches and the owners race in the PCA themselves. So I know she will be in good hands. I will try to make you Porsche guys proud in SCCA even though the vettes always win
