Default New Michelin Cups?

Apparently the GT3 997's are comming through with a new viriaty of Michelin Cups. One that is more friendly in the rain and a bit more suited for everyday street driving (same tire, different tread pattern). I'm guessing the 997 tires are too wide for use on the 996 GT3. Anyone know if there are any plans to make the new type michelins in 996 sizes? Thanks

I ran MPSC as street tires for three years, they're the worse street tires you can have.

The 997 GT3 tires are taller and a bit wider: 305/30R19, the same size is used on the wide body 997s. The narrow body 997s use a 295/30R19. I ran the 305/30R19 for a short time due to short supply on the 315/25R19 and it didn't trigger the ABS failure.

I currently run a 315/25R19 on 11.5" wheels, 315/35R18 on 12" wheels (ABS fails, but it's my Solo Racing setup). In the past I ran 335 A3S05 and 335 Toyo RA1.

A better MPSC for rain days might be a worse MPSC for dry days. There is always a give-up on multi-purpose tires.

I'm sure there's a compromise while trying to give the standard cups some rain performance. I guess what I'm looking for would be an improved Michelin PS2, hopeing the cups with some rain performance would fit that bill.

Many swear by the Pirelli Corsa System as being the tickey for both street and track... and they were specifically designed for the GT3.

Default Corsa System

I have the Corsa System on my Challenge Stradale. Great grip for the first two track days, then extreme fall-off in performance thereafter. Very slippery. Highly disappointing, particularly after one runs MPSCs routinely on the GT-2 and GT-3 (and to a lesser extent, the MPS2s on the CGT).
