Default Highlights from "EVO" magazine's 997 GT3 Review

More or less the same as the other glowing reviews we've read. Here's the important bits.

-Newly designed Michelin Sport Cups on GT3 will pull up to 1.4gs in dry. As a suprise, Porsche claims they are also better dealing with water than conventional tires

-In addition to the new design of Michelin Sport Cups fitted on the GT3, there will also be a new Pirelli tyre. The article says these are supposed to be a little more extreme than the Michelins.

-The new 19 inch wheels are no heavier than the 18's on the 996 GT3

-The new car is only heavier than a 996 GT3 not equiped with air con

-The 10,000km's of damper development time done on the Nurburgring has really payed off. Despite being very firm, the PASM in "normal" mode feels more comfortable than the 996 GT3 and even the ROW Sports Chassis option. "Sport" mode is very stiff and less suited to lapping the Nurburgring than "normal". "Sport" feels perfectly solid for use on a smooth track.

-Handling and Steering is fantastic in every way. Despite noting some understeer, the author dosen't seem concerned about rushing to adjust the suspension settings.

-996 GT3RS more challenging to drive.

- "The new GT3 is still the 911 of choice."

noice. . . seems to synch up with the statements from other reviews. however, how did the reviewer know the RS was more challenging to drive?

He was refering to the 996 RS. Not the new one.
