Dear Santa,

All I want for Christmas is a new ORANGE GT3RS in my garage. And I Promise to be good the whole year.

Sincerly,
atan888

PS
Promise to share it with my friends as well.

Unfortunately it won't be this Christmas. So if you're good in 2007 you just might get your wish...of course it will have some miles on it as I suspect Ol' St. Nick will want to have a go before handing it over.

Since we are all speculating on whether the RS will have plastic windows, carbon seats etc. and really have no real information to base any conclusion on, I am wondering if what Porsche has done in the past is a clue to what they may do in the future.

In the past, "Touring" models of the RS line have had "sports" seats instead of "bucket" seats and a dual mass instead of a single mass flywheel along with a few other creature comforts options such as A/C not in the "Basic" car.

It would make sense to repeat history and perhaps send only the Touring model to the USA if there are legal issues with bucket seats, side impact air bags, roll cages, plastic glazing, etc.

This would be face saving for Porsche in that the USA would not be getting a "watered down" RS but, due to regulations, only received the "Touring RS"...

if what cup car said above happens, then RS is different than non RS only in:
wider rear
some suspension pieces (big diff, i know)
anything else?

i am not counting exclusive color and assuming non RS can be had without hole on top

"Touring RS" = normal GT3 with wide body, modified rear suspension, larger front spoiler, carbon fiber wing and carbon fiber front hood. No roll cage, no fire extinguisher, no bucket seats, no plastic glazing and no light flywheel.

I hope this is not the case since it would probably insignificantly lighter (if at all) and probably not any quicker- perhaps slower due to larger aero package- than a normal GT3.

I don't see or know why the light flywheel would not make it...can anyone elaborate on this?
