Default New GT3 Owner!

Hi Guys!

Just thought I would drop in and say hello as I just picked up a gorgeous GT3. It is a very well optioned '04 in Carrera White over black with OEM Euro GT3 seats.

I am no stranger to the track or fast cars and had been shopping for an X50 until a friend convinced me to go try the GT3. So I went and strapped one on and it was perfect. Just the right amount of everything with perfect feel/feedback. Suffice it to say that I forgot about the X50 and left the dealer with the GT3. Okay, so it also helped that the car in question was exactly what I was looking for in terms of options and color.

I do have a couple of questions:

1. Are there any good links to a Valentine1 hardwire DIY?
2. What is the best place to buy factory Ruf pedals?
3. The only thing I want that I don't have is the leather GT3 embossed center storage bin cover. Any ideas on how to get one? I struck out with both the dealer and Gert.
4. I am having the car properly aligned and corner weighted with me and a 1/2 tank, any advice? I have noticed that the car tends to float in rougher corners.

Thanks!

-Carl

Welcome and congrats on your new GT3. Down to business - POST SOME PICS!

1. Do a search on Valentine in the 996 forum. It'll come up with lots of installs.
2. You can get Ruf pedals from the Ruf dealer in Dallas, TX. Weissach in Vancouver may have some left over from their Ruf days.
3. Not sure on that one. Try one of the custom tuners like TechArt.
4. Lots of threads on this topic. Do search in GT3 forum.

Good luck with the car.

Congratulations...

The GT3 keeps going to the right hands. This is great.

Plenty of information on the alignment in this forum.

Congrats,

Post where you live and maybe some members can direct you to a shop in your area that has done correct set up on Gt3's before. Experience goes an long way in set up.

Enjoy the car!

Congratulations. It's a great car. I've had mine less than a year and I like it more everyday. I'm sure you will too.

I am in Denver, CO.

I have been told that the Tire Source in Boulder has the most GT3 experience and is the best place to go for a setup and corner weight. I am planning to have it done on a 1/2 tank. Also, I was planning on bringing them the spec for the Roland Kussumaul setup. I will be driving this car mainly on the the street but there will be some light track use(my wife is racing this year so I have a shortage of energy and time to go to track events myself).

Pics are soon to come!
