Default Don't bother w/ fluid in power bleeder

Then top off the master reservoir with fresh fluid to a decent level, throw some of it in the power bleeder, and save a tad to top off the reservoir when you're done. There's always going to be a "little" old fluid left anyway. If this concerns you, just do a more thorough bleed with fresh fluid.

Alternatively, you can bleed the master reservoir down, fill it up with fresh fluid, and never add fluid to the bleeder tank. That way, if your connection blows, you won't have brake fluid flying all over the place. Using this method, you may have to stop once, fill the master a bit with some more fluid, and then repressurize and continue the bleed.

Cheers
I flushed my brake fluid yesterday using the procedure above. I like it. Much cleaner than putting the brake fluid in the power bleeder. I only topped once, after the RR brake, but in seeing how much fluid was used, I believe I can do the whole system without topping until the very end, which I'll try next time (keeping a close eye on the reservoir, of course). Good tip.

Thanks, Andy
