Thanks for all of your input. I have followed up on the leads and will have a PPI on one this week. Does the PPI include a download of the ECU or do I specify this as well? Will the dealer interpret this for me? I hope to use this on the road and track. Thanks for everyones help.

The dealer will read the codes for you. Mine did it for free. Took two minutes. I was able to see number of rev limit hits both up shift and missed downshift.

If the PPI is done at a Porsche Dealership they normally check the ECU messages. If you aren't sure or want something else checked just tell them in advance.

Engine tests such as compression and leak down are more involved and cost more. If the history of the candidate is complete, factory warranty is good, and you (and mechanic) don't have any reason to be worried about the engine then I wouldn't bother with these extra tests.

Most of these GT3 are low mileage cars but you still want to know exactly what condition it is in cosmetically and mechnically. Tires only last about 4,000 - 5,000 miles.

New or like new does not equal perfect (I have never seen a perfect car).
