Replacing the mufflers with maxflo's will save you significant poundage. The sound is more aggressive and throaty under open throttle, but not too different at idle or with normal cruising. Much more tolerable day to day than straight bypass pipes which are great on the track, but not too neighborly on the street. It's better for hearing your 'blip' on the track when heel-toeing. Looks great. Really no downside imho.

rsa. thanks. I do have By-pass for the track. It is great. The problem is when I start the car in the garage pictures fall off the wall in the dinning room.

Hey Roberga,

I had the FS mufflers on my C2 and I was about to get them on my GT3 (or the bypass) when I decided on selling it. I have to say that I used to LOVE the damn sounds from the mufflers... in fact, I recently ran into the guy who bought my C2 at the dealer and I asked him to rev the engine a few times in exchange for details of what I had tone to the car... what a sound!

Aside from the obvious weight benifits, they just sound agressive (could have used less kind adjectives) you can hear the cams and the engine lope with these guys. IMHO this is what the car should have sounded like from the factory. An added plus, these are made to last the life of the car, a quality piece.

Roberga,
I'm having the Fabspeed mufflers installed next week. Although the weight savings is great I really want the sound. I'll post my feelings and let you know.

I'm running the Fab muffs... everything else is stock.

They have a nice gurgle to them.
They're much lighter.
No resonance.
Very racy and more throaty than stock, but you lose a bit of that high-pitched mechanical "whirring" compared to the stock setup. A bit of a trade off here IMO.
Definitely streetable.
Perhaps a very slight loss of pull in the low end. Nothing big, though.
Fab tips look much better... and give it that old school big oval Tequipment look.

Overall, a worthwhile change.

Cheers

Every time I've enquired about aftermarket exhausts, I've come away convinced I can't run one and track the car at the venues I like. The car is close to the noise limits as it is
