i had one in my c2, hated it.
it actually will HELP you miss shift.
i like to stop a fraction of a second in neutral before i engage the next gear. that smooth sh ifting will not slow down your lap time.

The heartbeat method is actually taught at the Porsche driving school, Chris Hall articulates it best.

Pause a little (hearbeat) between the shifts in neutral..and your shifts are actually faster and smoother.

Try it, and then throw away the SSK!

I have attended PDE. I had a well installed B&M SSK in my old 996 C4S. It represented a huge improvement on the stock 996, and the heartbeat method is not contradictory with a SSK. However with respect to a GT3, my seat time is limited, but in my limited experience the stock GT3 shifting was far superior to the stock C4S, probably making the SSK unnecessary. I will defer to GT3 owners for more relevant input.

Hey, this was the only way my first car (Fiat 131) would shift, that was a feature.
And don't mention the weak synchros on the Renault 11.

I'm gettig more accustomed to the short shifter - but I still think I will be replacing it with the stock shifter...

i put a b&M on with an evo linkage kit i like the way it shifts but may be slightly out of adjustment.
3rd gear is a little stiff to get into gear at times.

my stock shifter came to peices in the middle of an intersection
