There is a longer version of this floating around with gallardo + etc in it. Also has grip tests on a static circle etc.

Then again there is also the proper DVD available too

What is a "GT3 CS" ? Was the GT3 hotted up?

I'm surprised by this video showing the GT3 pulling away from the F430, because in my experience, my F430 pulls stronger than my GT3.

The GT3CS is the heavier GT3 with the extra 55 lbs worth of cage/rollbar, fire extinguisher.

I'm not surprised at all. The GT3 took a jump off the line (few tenths advantage on drag racing). Add the fact that the GT3 will take off better due to the advantage on traction off the line. You can see the F430 catching up around 200kph, which is about a bit over the 1/4 mile, and the F430 slowing down with no excuse.

At high speed you can see how the F430 pulls much stronger than the GT3. On a track day, there are not drag racing starts, so in real life the heavier F430 moves faster.

Acceleration times for both cars are not that far off. Low 12 seconds on the stock GT3 vs. high 11s for the F430/C6Z06.

Don't forget it comes with the lighter bucket seats trimmed in nomex

That car has the cup wing on too IIRC? (not the CS, the car in the vid)

Also trying to remember if the CS had the door airbag delete or not. Should have shipped with the LWF like the mk1 version, but everything got softened on the mk2s in preparation for going to the US

The 430 isn't heavier than the GT3 is it? I thought it might be lighter with the alum frame. When is porsche going to finally make the jump to an alum frame ala ferrari and Lotus? that would be worthwhile. The P cars need a diet.

That would be a positive step as long as it doesn't compromise repairability (Elises are a pig to repair as its all bonded aluminium, mandating replacement of the tub a reasonably common occurence).

Sadly the end has been cut off where they say they prefer the GT3!

The F430 is close to 3300# on Euro trim, and over 3300 lbs in US trim. The GT3 comes under 3100# in Euro trim and a bit over 3100# on US trim.

On both cars you can get the lighter Ceramic Brakes, Sport Seats, lighter wheels, etc.

I don't trust official weight figures from Ferrari or Porsche. They are typically off compared to corner weights on a computerized scale.
