You are giving up a GT3 for a RSA? Is it because the racing bug bit and you don't want to trade paint with an expensive car?.

I have a friend that sold his RSA and bought a GT3 and he couldn't be happier. I guess the grass is always greener. I'd be curious of your drving experience on the track between the two. I might eventually buy a RSA to race (for the same reasons I'm suggesting above), but only if I could keep the GT3 to track and drive as well. I'm not sure the RSA would completly do it for me. A cup car would though. Definately. Good luck with it and have fun. Some lucky guy will end up with your car.

Yeah, well I'd really like to keep both cars, but my GT3 has only 4715 miles on it in 18 months of ownership, with most of that on the track. I just don't drive it much otherwise, and it doesn't make any sense to let it sit in the garage. Plus once I start running the RSA, I'll want to DE the car as well to get really sharp with it, so the GT3 won't see much of the track then either. I already know that I'll miss it, but I really want to get back into racing, especially after running the Cup Car last fall. Maybe if I'm really good, Santa will bring me a Cup Car in a few years.

Larry,

Which car do you think will be faster on a typical track, the stockish gt3 or the race prepped RSA?

Thanks,

Thanks,
On the typical track, on R compound tires they should be close. I have run 1:22s at Summit Point in my GT3 on R tires (high 1:20s on slicks), and I expect this car to be around the same, but the speed will be in different places, as the lighter, race prepped RSA should handle quite a bit better. This car will not have the top end rush that the GT3 does, so on tracks with longer straights I would expect the GT3 to be faster.

Larry,

It might be helpful if you post the parts and spares available on your car.

Things like Rollbar, wheels, tires, used Slicks, brake pads, RS spoiler, etc.

Congratulations on the RS America.

Don't you already have enough parts?

My plan is to end up with a cup car in the next few years, but I really want to race again, now, so although it feels like a step backwards this financially is the right thing to do. BTW, on the roads around here, except for having everyone gawk at you, it really was not much fun driving the GT3 around on the street.

Yes he will. The deal is agreed to and it's coming out your way.

Phoenix would be great. I can not believe how nice the freeway surfaces are.

Commiserations and congratulations on the sale of the GT3, Larry. What will you be driving at VIR at the end of March? Will the RSA be ready by then?
