Arrow Moding the S54

Whoever is reading this should notice the seriousness of the statement. Even if Cosmos didn’t mean it, the word “mod it to death” holds truth to those who set out to tune the S54 motor.

If you are expecting a 400bhp (I assume at the wheel) you will need various new Motorsport hardware and a ECU (Motec perhaps and ditched VANOS) with many hours of dyno-time. Even if you start with a complete E46 CSL motor, you better be prepared for a major investment; then again you guys are in the GT3 price-range.

My opinion is that you feel you need more torque; you might want to look into the current gearing setup in your transmission.

Well, what I meant and I think you understood this is just that.

You can mod the s54 untill it dies. It takes lots of money to get to 400hp, and NO, I mean crank. The PTG guys were getting like 410ish HP and those motors lasted 1 race and cost more then most cars.

That being said, it would still be cheaper to buy a 6cy then the V8 and get more power from the 6 then the 8.
