Default 2005 Gt3 for 2002 Gt2

Advice please. I can trade my 2005 Gt3 3100 miles, for a 2002 Gt2 with 3800 miles on it. 30k and my car. What do you think? The car is flawless. My concerns are any warranty issues, since it probably expires in 06, the car's history, (bought my Gt3 new). And is a Gt2 that much faster? I've never driven one, 456 hp is very tempting.

Do not buy it untill you drive it first...it's not like the GT3. You must drive it

The price seems close.

119 sticker on my Gt3, paid 114. MSRP on the 2 is attached. 185K. I really don't have time to fly out to Springfield, MO to drive it. It would be a enclosed trailer to enclosed trailer deal. That is why I'm getting some forum thoughts.

More pictures. I think it was a one owner car. I'm doing a carfax as we speak.

Is there any GT2 more local to you? Maybe a Rennlister that would take you out for a drive and maybe even let you go around the block?

The car looks beautiful from the pictures. If you don't mind me asking what are they giving you for your car and what is the price they are selling the GT2 for?

How do you use your GT3 presently?

The GT2 has much more torque, and that makes it much more instantly responsive. The downside is you need to be "driving" this car all the time since mistakes with the mis-application of power, or loss of concentration, are easy to induce.

The GT2 demands restraint, rewarding the patient and technically precise with the capacity to punish (big time) the "ego" driver. Definitely a step beyond the GT3 if you have the mental discipline to grow into the car.

There is a gentleman named Pete C. on this board from Philly (2 hour drive?),
he has a Cayenne and a GT2 with some cool wheels on it (Cargraphic??)
Call him and arrange a meeting, drive the GT2,
then buy the darn thing!!
from one "turbo guy to another" go for it (but drive one first!)

They have only quoted the trade difference of 30K. I would assume that they are giving me 90K for mine and selling the 2 for 120K. I think I will get a tax credit from Maryland and just pay tax on the difference. Does anybody know if I'm accurate on that thought?

Crazy. An 02 GT2 in the UK is worth about the same as an 05 GT3. You US guys seem to like GT2s more than any other country!
