Rear Spoiler Shims install
Just got a set of 4 and 8 degree shims from Devek. I know about the #40 torx after popping off the screw cover, but what else do I need to do?
Do I take the entire wing off to put the shims over the end of the wing??? Do I gently pry the uprights apart to extract the wing? Do things fit easily and is it obvious upon examination?
What's the deal??
Someone please give me knowledge!
Wisdom will come after I learn what I'm doing!!

It is obvious once you loosen the wing bolts. The wing will slide (more like slide/pivot) up and then you can slip the shims in. You do not have to remove the wing, and actually there is a safety button that you have to press to get the wing to come off, so don't worry about it sliding up too far.

I did this, but with scotch tape...still mangled the cover a little.

Buy a new set and get eric the lug guy to paint it for you. Bi@#ch is the word for taking it out. Both Holger and I did at same time still chipped and broke off the flimsy clip. Mike

We believe you on the difficulty of removing the screw covers (plugs).
Maybe tape (to protect the paint) on the area around the plug on the upright and a thin putty knife blade might work better than the small surface area provided by a little screw driver blade.
Does warming that upright area with a hair dryer do any good to free the plug (or icing the plug to shrink it a tad)?

Mine were a pain. At first I tried using fishing line to get under the lip and pry off, but it just didn't work. Eventually, I was able to use a plastic kitchen spatula to pry it off (after advice from the dealership!!). Result was I only mangled a couple of the tabs. Since pulling them off ~1 year ago, I've never seen any reason to put them back on.
Oh, lol, if you look at one of the pictures in the GT3 screen saver, you can see under the wing and the caps are removed!
Geoff.
