Here's where I got to today, two days before my next event. Drove to my alignment shop and determined that my 2º of camber on the rear wheels is good. Talked about rolling the fenders (they use a tool and have had good results). Considered using the next size down tire (275/35). Considered different wheels and different overall alignment settings, but there was not time to do that before the weekend.
I had planned to try the 335s and then settle on the 305s for this event, get some tire temperatures (contact pyrometer is now in hand), and then consider a new alignment and corner balance depending on what I saw. I was really shocked that the 305s were rubbing when traversing significant dips, but I have much in mind the "ski jump" after the bridge at Shenandoah where I get all four wheels in the air--I don't want rubbing when I land! Given the lack of time, I went with the 275s. It gives me time to think about what to do when I wear them out.
Kudos to CJ's Tires for mounting the 335s, 305s and 275s and just charging me for the 335s and then refunding (without my asking) the difference to the 275s, and doing it all with really good grace. I met Skip, the owner and a racer, and had a great chat with him while they did the third dismount/mount.

No rubbing at all front or rear. My car was raised last week to 105mm/118mm that's 10mm below Euro specs, I was running too low before.
By the way, my slicks are mounted on 996TT wheels (11" ET45) and they don't rub either.
You can still roll the fenders (baseball wood bat ), I haven't done that yet because I haven't needed it so far.
I'm going to try this setup at Pocono East in two weeks.

That's a massive steam roller set-up!
How do you like the CCW's?
Do you find the 450/650 a better overall set-up?
I got the 285 V710 for the rear, they look a little bigger than the stock MPS2 295.
The R6 Hoosier 245 is bigger than the Kumho 245 and the 315's are a big tire.

For stock weight AutoX/Track the 600/800 should work better. My previous 750/1000 setup was really stiff for AutoX, but great for the track. I ran my previous setup with 0 clicks on the street and AutoX, on my current setup if I run it with 0 clicks, the car feels floppy on transitions.

R,
A friend just ordered a set of CCW, thanks to you he is getting the 9 & 12" in black.
I am happy with the 600/800, but if I was to do it again it would be a little closer, high 6's with the 800. the spread of 200 is high in my opinion. 100/150 would be better.

hey z06, do the v710s look stretched on the the 11" wide rear? you said they look wider than the 295 MPS2, are they just as wide as the 295 MPSCs?
the diameters for the 245/285 looks kinda small 24.6". will this be a problem?

NJ-GT has done V710 285 on a 11" already, I have not installed the V710 yet, soon.
A quick measure the V710 285 looked slightly wider, but close enough were as I am not realy concerned with the oversize of the rim, 11" vs. the rec max of 10.5",
The MPS2 295 is 25", the V710 off the Kumho page are
245/35R18 24.8" 9.8 on 8.5 4 30/C/A 21.6
285/30R18 9.5 - 10.5 24.8" 11.4 on 10.0 4 30/C/A 23.6
the tire rack has the 285 as you said 24.6", if anything it will have more jump with the smaller diameter.
When the V710 arrived it was a warm day and they felt like fresh gum.

I won the 2005 SCCA Solo2 NE National Tour on 245/285 Kumho V710. They were installed on my former BBS Racing Wheels 8.5"/11" on close to stock offsets. Killer combo. I tested them against my 275/335 Hoosier A3S05 and decided to run the National event on the fastest setup.
The 285 V710 puts more rubber to the ground than a 315 MPSC, due to the lack of grooves. The compound is very sticky.

On my 11" BBS Mag wheels the V710 285/18 are a perfect fit.. when I get a chance i will post pictures... the 285 has a 11" tread section..similar to stock 295, the Hoosier R6 315/18 is 12.4"

The 315 V710 puts 13" on the ground with the 12" CCW wheel.
Photos taken by Yarin this past weekend. He and Adrial are pretty experienced autocrossers.

That last picture looks like it has lifted the inner front and if that rear tire did not rub there it will never rub....that's a heavyly loaded back end...you must have been flying.
Great pictures... the CCW look good.
