DEVEKS, two piece rotors are like $500+ each, and the replacement rotors, (you keep the hats) are like $250+ a piece. I can't see how you could beat that?

Ok, guys be careful here in comparing apples to apples. There are rotors with hats and rotors with "floating hats" (AP). The floating hats dissipate heat better and should last you a full season of track events - thus a higher cost.

vegasgolf98 is correct. There are two basic types of disc attachment to the hat, bolted or floating. Bolted is used for smaller discs and especially for off-road where dirt can clog a floating system. Floating is used for larger discs and allows for axial movement and radial heat expansion of the disc.
