A wholesale number would be hard to pin down because these cars are auctioned so infrequently, and it would be difficult to find out what dealers are offering customers on trade-in.

I do know of a low-optioned, 2002 GT2 with 3300 miles that was available at a CT dealer for a few months. They sent the car to auction approx. 3 months back and it sold for $123K. The car is currently being offered for $139K (certified).

I would say 123K was a very low wholesale figure- remember, it was in the Northeast in late November, probably the worst time to liquidate a GT2.

For the 9.5K mile, heavily optioned 02 mentioned above, I would say a wholesale price would be in the low $120s. $115K is a firesale price if everything is in order.

Luxury Mtrs. sold a 03 w/500 miles for 136K two months ago. They currently have a 03 Slate Grey w/3K mi for 130K. Regarding 02 cars at 140-160K, dealers/resellers can ask whatever they want however, I don't see potential buyers writing checks like that.

i bought a 75 mile 196 slate 03 gt2 one year ago for 140; a 30 miles SY 02 193 about 2 years ago 140...

this is reality of actual transactions, similar to those seen by PCH.

BTW -- i will pay about 150 for a low miles 04 today if anyone is selling.

I don't know why anyone would sell a GT2 for these prices.
It isn't a car that has the following the GT3 does, in fact nearly every GT2 I have tracked with has been traded in for a GT3 because they are just easier to drive fast, and the owners seem to have more fun with them. The GT2 is a great autobahn blaster, but it isn't a car that has garnered a great following here, and that is why the prices are just a few percent above a good TT or GT3.

Also be sure that this isn't that Lemon Law car that Beverly Hills Porsche sold to someone here, and is now back on the market via the dealer network. Do a carfax check, a PPI inspection and be sure to check those PCCB rotors, at $40K to replace them that is a very, very big worry!

I am a big proponet of the GT2 and at the current market prices I consider it the performance bargain of the decade (so far, hope the Carerra GT doesn't surpass it). While it is more difficult to drive than the GT3, it also offers a greater sense of satisfaction, when driven well!

I went on a drive yesterday and must say I can't think of a P-Car, short fo the C-GT, that I would rather own. The car is just awesome and a real thrill to drive.

I agree the GT3 is a great car and has the following the GT2 may never have. But I would encourage anyone to consider the GT2 as a real option to the GT3 and one with substantial performance potential (if you like a project car).

As for the market, it is what it is. So if you have a GT2 keep it. If you don't get one while all the current GT2 owners are buying C-GT's and simply offing their cars to dealer, at whatever the price. I predict GT2's will be very hard to find in a year or two, at any price. Right now you can get low milage cars at great prices, get em while you can!!!

What's a realistic price for this car? The link mentions that they'll let it go for "far below invoice." I couldn't find any invoice pricing for the GT2 on nada, edmunds, etc. I currently have a GT3 and a Challenge Stradale. I've decided to replace the CS w/ a GT2.

a year ago a wisconsin dealer sold a new 03 black for 150. i wouldnt pay over 140, but tough at a dealer, better a PP
