Is it normal for the boost to change?

I think it will change based on a few factors, some of which are:
1. ambient air temp
2. barometric pressure
3. altitude
4. fuel octane
For the first three, the amount of boost will vary in order to obtain the same absolute pressure in the manifold (what the car regulates for). Here in Denver, the cars boost well over 1Bar, because they have to, in order to reach the same absolute pressure achieved with .8 or .9Bar at sea level...
