youd have to change ur interior trim pieces to the ones from a carrera, weld in the seat belt brackets, maybe drill the holes for the various bits and pieces (unless they're already there, but u will have 2 poke holes in ur carpet), make sure that all the various saftey doodads are the same as in a carrera/tt/c4s/car with rear seats.
if ur willing 2 go thru all that, then yes, yes it might be possible (MAY be possible) but you'll be bastardizing a rare car and i can't make any guess as to whether it is safe. Not worth it IMHO.
i think the topic has been discusses several times on this board and the general consensus was no not safe.

The car comes into the US as a two-seater, identified as such on the VIN. I thought about it myself, but it wouldn't be DOT legal and if you got in an accident with your kids(I presume) in the back, you might have issues with insurance co, etc. The lack of a backseat is why I didn't get a GT3, my kids love riding with me in the C4S. I'm happy, they're happy.

I only ordered my GT3 once I was sure that back seats could be added. My dealer put them in and I love having them. My kids can now come along.
It wasn’t cheap with all new parts (red belts). If I was doing it again, I would probably try to find someone tracking their 996 to sell me the seats, belts and brackets. There is one bracket that must be welded in, but if done properly the car is exactly the same as any other 996.
The only potential problem would be if you were installing the Euro GT3 front seats that would restrict access to the rear seats.

Thank god my wife hates the GT3's ride(only been in car Once) but my daughter loves it. Liability up the ya ya if something happens. Just out of curiosity what would happen with putting on euro GT3 seats-is that a liability issue too? Regards. Mike

can't you get the car registered as a kit car or a custom, like those crazy custom cars that are turned into convertables etc etc... that way there isn't as much liability because its a 4-door "kit car"

Probably, but I wouldn't do it on a GT3. I like to take my kids out in my car, that's the only reason I would add a backseat, I don't give a sh#t about the next buyer/resale value/raping a car etc. The bottom line is that it may not be legal and liabilities must be considered, that's why I got a car with a backseat.
