RS Drop Links ?
#17
I intsalled the RS drop links. All four are adjustable. On the cup Car only one side is adjustable. My car sits at 112mm front 117 rear. Work was done at Kelly Moss. They know their stuff!! The front RS are slightly different in that they become the front pinch bolt and nolonger mount into the spring perch.

Do you have a part number for the RS rear links?
My parts list shows the same part number for RS as well as normal GT3.
Also do you mean the pinch bolt that clamps the spring strut to the upright?

Cosmos,
I installed the adj. Cup links front and rear. As Greg mentioned only one side is adjustable, but that is all you really need for a proper corner balance. I believe I only purchased the adj. ones and used existing links on the other side. So I ended up buying 2 links versus 4 with the RS. As Greg mentioned having a "Kelly Moss" or good race shop who work on GT3 Cup cars or RS's is a real plus in setting up your car.

Here are the part numbers: Front 996.343.070.9A Rear 996.333.070.90 Cost is about $900 (ouch) everything is expensive. In response to the previous post on ride height. Depends on the driver. Great drivers have the cup and rs cars set at about 85-90mm front and 100mm rear.

Greg,
Would it be possible to get a picture or two of the drop links as installed? It might be a big help to us installing these things ourselves. Tnx

In the Cup GT3 factory manual it states that with 640 mm tires (25.2") the ride height in the front is 86 mm and in the rear it is 107 mm.

I took these part numbers off my invioce so I can't say if these are exactly correct. I know when Jeff at Kelly Moss was ordering these parts for me there were a few options. I will put the car up and check for numbers and post some pictures. As to the ride height numbers I had a discussion with Jeff and Pete at KMR when they set up my car. When they set up a car they always try to set the car to the driver and the track and or street. The factory manaual may have those numbers in print, but to me that is a suggested starting point. I am 112 in front and 117 rear. By the end of the year I will probably lower the car even more. That was a street/track comprimise setting.

The numbers I gave are for factory Carrera Cup racing car, not a street car. I don't think you would want to do the settings on the street, they just show what Porsche recommends on the Track only.
