Default 2005 GT3 vs. 2004

Sorry if this has already been covered, but are there any differences between a 2005 GT3 and 2004? Picked up a 2005 on Friday and I have to say that there should be another word for it than "car." It is absolutely out of this world - what a treat!

Well then don't tortue yourself, take it up a little higher, I wouldn't go for a flat out run for miles at 8200 just yet but a I don't think many of us kept it under 4500 for 1200 miles and I haven't heard of any problems yet.

OK, the truth is there have been many upgrades along the way. For example, my GT3 has the RSR crankcase, different from the early 2004 3.6 Turbo crankcase. Also, the springs are upgraded and different.

I thought the MY05 was identical to the last of the MY04s. Is that right?

Can anyone spell out what changes occurred in the MY04 run? I understand the crankcase change was pretty much immaterial but did not know about the spring changes.

They are? Are you talking of a spring change within the MY '04 or from the MkI?

vegasgolf: The case change was across the line for the GT2/GT3 and Turbo engines in late '04, not just for the GT3.

From what I've seen the changed from the original Michelin PS2 to a Pirelli. Unaware of any changes to the suspension.

Cos, I could not find your post (I know I saw it, about the wrong numbered springs. Can you point me to it or repeat the issue? I want to check my springs when I see my GT3, which should be later this week.
