I haven't experience any ill effects. Why do you think that there would be?

There seems to be more flex in the bumper as a whole, and I would imagine that Porsche felt a need for the frame or they would not otherwise put it in the first place.

I worry about high speed effects and the bumper flexing and disrupting downforce on the front of the car. I hit an indicated 186mph and just got to thinking.

Also I think the speedo is a bit optimistic by about 15mph at that speed.

Gert answered my question there are 2 separate bumper covers with radiator outlets at the top:
-The GT3 RS cover which is constructed with the grills installed and formed to be flush with the body surface.
-The Cup cover which has the grills as separate parts.

Thanks Gert

If it makes you feel any better the Cup car bumper cover does not have this black frame installed. I speculate that the frame is supposed to close off the gap between the bumper cover and the plastic cooling shrouds for the rads. The screen frames fill this gap nicely, so the frame isn't needed.

Karl,

Gert and I think Cupcar is talking about the mesh at the top of the bumper!

Ciao,

Right, that were the mesh grills that I referred to.

Yeah, I knew that we were talking about the upper air exit slots in the top of the bumper cover. The Cup car parts catalog lists part # 996.505.325.91 for the mesh screens for these air exit slots, so they must be available separately from the bumper cover, at least through Motorsports if not a dealer.

But arn't the motorsport screens flat, unformed scrrens, so when mounted behind the cover they are not flush with the body surface?

The RS screens (supplied only with a complete bumper cover) are formed to fill in the vent hole so the finished surface of the screen is flush with body surface.

Cosmos and Karl S. Did you have to remove the bumper to get the mesh screens on or to take out the black frame. How did you install it?

Please Advise.

Yes you have to remove the bumper cover and yes you have to remove the black plastic frame. Check your e-mail for installation help.

I just went through this when i put the RS bumper on the GT3.
The RS bumper has the screens installed at the factory and they are embossed. The RS bumper dues not come with sceeens for the bottom of the grill in front of the radiators.
the cup bumper is different as the screens are separate and not embossed (ie flush with the top of the bumper. Also the cup bumper has the 3 holes at the bottom closed up and the tow hook is a vertical slot that needs to be cut out of the bumper

I have SS screening that I am now thinking of just using safety wire to put on faces of radiators. That may offer the protection that is needed from track debris etc. Tomorrow I will "look into" situation- literally!

Quick Reply: Is there a grill or screen for the radiator slots on the GT3 RS?
