Just for comparison sake, There was a new Lotus Elise bone stock with the sport package clocked in the 58's at LRP.

That tells me that LRP is a small and tight track like our Streets of Willow, which gives similar lap times, and is also a track that favors lightness and manouverabilty over power. (a good shifter kart on race rubber is much faster than a Cup car there, just what the laws of physics deems possible.)

I have been keeping a close eye on the Loti in the UK, where I have driven them, and they can certainly have an edge at certain tracks, but not at the ones that favor the GT3 like the 'ring. While they are great fun they're not as capable as a Radical at the track, or as nice as a GT3 as a road car. I had an order in for one, but withdrew it thinking Radical thoughts instead.

Agree,...the Lotus weighs about 1200 lbs less than the GT3. LRP is all momentum......

On the other end of the spectrum, the GT3RSR with the ultimate in race performance enhancements (including driver), does a 52 and change at LRP.....

Or you could get an early 1990's GTP car and do it under 44 sec. WITH the chicane. I think that's an average of about 154mph!!!!

Not bad for green driver. However, in my opinion it is not a good idea to use track tires for the first or second year.
