I just got some info on this one. Apparently, there are 12 US cars affected, all with VINs below 692285. I do not have the actual VIN #'s, but the TSB is real. If your VIN is below that, you might want to check with a dealer.

Default Any details on the TSB appreciated..

Although my VIN is above the cutoff. It's amazing though, how they can pinpoint failures down to just a handfull of vehicles, that is engineering!

There are 12 US cars between VIN 270 & 285 affected. The job is 27.6 hours R & R the engine and the cam boxes and remove the heads. The fix is to install new caps on the exhaust valve springs. The ones on these 12 cars were not hardened properly and may wear prematurely. I had the tech read me the TSB it came out this AM. carl

Thanks for the info. My SA ran my vin and the only tsb showing was the DME one. 211 is my lucky number today!

I can't see them tearing them down these motors. Are there any dealers capable in the country, they are all part changers, or they replace the entire component, motor trans, etc.

I'm #243 and very glad that sweet motor is staying right where it should. I'm going to feel a lot better when I'm revin' it up on the track this weekend.

I wonder if motor swapout is an option, that job seems so long in manhours. You should ask them for a Turbo for loaner : )
