@spiller it's Pure PPF which is colored PPF. Full install wasn't cheap, around $8k in LA but it's a 7 year warranty compared to vinyl that often looks like garbage within a year.

@cgfen great minds think alike. The price on these is eye watering but particularly now with the wrap, it's nice being able to still bring the bike along.

Thanks for the details Ryan. I enquired locally in Aus and the price was around 9K AUD (6K USD). Quite a lot but cheaper than trading to another car and justifiable given the lifespan.

Since I don't have enough going on in my life (:sarcasm: ...just got done wrapping up a major deal and have been in escrow on a new place) I decided to make some tweaks to the GT3. First up was replacing the Pagids with Hawk pads:

The pad swap was fairly uneventful, cleaned up the calipers and did some initial bedding. Feels like I lose some of the initial bite that the Pagid have but I no longer sound like a jalopnik rolling around town when I drive without getting proper heat into the brakes.

After that, I wanted to address the mirrors since the PPF job had a seam on it that bothered me and I also figured black/CF mirrors would look better. I ordered the Rennline ones, which shipped from Pelican in a day. The first set was defective on the drivers side. It fit perfectly on the passenger side.

After reaching out to them, I had a replacement pair on the way which happened super quickly and I was able to get them installed in 15 minutes. The second pair went on correctly, so that at least alleviated the concern that the mold itself was bad.

Garage is a mess since I have half my house boxed up in there at the moment. The new place has an easier ingress and egress to the garage so it should be a less of a chore to drive the car for quick trips. I decided to pull down the listings for sale since I'm really struggling with the idea that any replacement is going to be meaningfully better from an experience standpoint. I've been talking to ScottAz about the idea of picking up a Scud and whether that makes sense as a suitable replacement. That brings in a bunch of other concerns and considerations. We'll see...probably should finish the house move first lol...

Unrelated note, anyone going to Luft 10 at Universal this weekend? I'm attending the rally the day before with my neighbor and the dinner at Petersen.

That is absolutely cool! Love McIntosh. I built my own tube amp a number of years ago. 50 Watts per channel.

I do, but I won't spoil the puzzle. I have two sets.

The red thing to the right is a hammer. Just saying...

Yeah, it's a pretty clean setup having the integrated amp. I have it paired with a Cambridge Audio streamer. My wife hates the look of having speakers but I don't think she realizes it could be much worse lol.

For the new house, she won and the speakers have to go into the media room. Not that she won, I just couldn't figure out how to get the speaker cables routed cleanly around the fireplace without ruining the aesthetic. Open to suggestions for Ryan's #KeepSpeakersInTheLivingRoom campaign. I originally wanted to place the speakers on either side of the fireplace but then equipment would have to be placed in front of the left window and then the nagging ensued...

Beautiful house and a beautiful view! I can see the issues. I have the same Cambridge Audio streamer.

Yes, speaker placement is tough. At least yours are small! Mine use 15" woofers paired with extended range ribbon tweeters (designed to my wife's specifications, believe it or not). Here is a picture before the koa veneer was applied. They are monsters and 93 dB/W efficient. I went a little overboard here. The cabinets are two layers of Baltic birch with a constrained layer of a rubbery glue to dampen vibrations.
