Hi everybody,
I’m from France and i’ve bought a nice 6.2 Gt3 with 100 000km, everything is ok and it drive nice, what a car ! Amazing driving machine.
Has someone ever broken his engine or need a rebuild ? How many miles have you got with your 6 gt3 without engine rebuild ? From what i seen, it is a really reliable car.
thks!

So far I have put 142K miles (229K km) of mostly street and some autocross driving on mine before I finally had the engine dropped for:
1. Replacement of worn exhaust valve guides (poor compassion on two cylinders).
2. 1st clutch replacement! It still worked well, but—as they say—while you are in there...
3. Weld remaining coolant fittings. Top one failed long ago, one other was getting loose.
4. Replace anything rubber while the engine was out.
5. Replace original OEM limited slip clutch plates with Guard units.
That said, we only re-valved the engine's heads and did not touch the lower end. That seems fine.
Oh, and I've already replaced the OEM suspension with Ohlins R&T and RSS motor mounts.
Other than that, the past history has been one water pump, a fuel pump, a leaky heater, a power steering hose, and a relay for the climate control system.
I've had the car since 2006 when it had 5,500 miles on the odometer.

My car had a chain guide/carrier fail and in order to properly get rid of the plastic debris, I had to split the case. It's currently getting a 3.8L build as a result. 64k miles.

There is a guy on the 996 turbo forum (same basic engine architecture, albeit less revs but more heat/pressure from boost), and he has over 450k miles!!!!

Hey LuisGT3. Saw your post from about a year ago. Who did you have do your engine for you? What did you end up spending? Thanks!

I rebuilt mine 2x now. 1st time was damage to the block from a failed PP assembly, 2nd time was largely due to inept machine shops screwing up the work from the 1st rebuild
