Holy Crap! Did they test KarlS's chipped GT3 or something? C&D has been known to be unkind to a clutch but their 1/4 mile time was only 12.3 for the GT3 vs. 360CS vs. Ford GT test.

Perhaps the 190 was top speed tested. Not the trap speed of the 1/4. I think in the turbo shootout, the fastest car did 1/4 in 10.7 and trapped somewhere around 138 mph. I don't know where the trap speed is taken, whether it's at the end of the 1/4 or somewhere in between. I agree, the car cannot do 190 in a quarter mile.

I remember another mag getting 4.0 flat and commenting they thought it could do better on a different test track. I think it ahd to do witht he altitude or climate or something. I forget which mag that was, does anyone remember?

12.07 @ 116 mph, is crazy fast.
The trap speed is measured at the end of the 1/4 mile.
usually the best way to launch a car with no respect for the clutch or drive train is to ride the clutch out, this is very hard on the clutch, it is used to control wheel spin, it still will take some time to destroy the clutch, the launch in drag racing is always very hard on the drive train.
A trap speed of 116 mph is a very good sign of good HP, it could have been a cool day with a sticky track, there are always little tricks in getting the best times.

The 2800 lbs, 425Hp, R-Compound Pirelli Corsas, short ratio transmission Ferrari 360CS did it in 12.53 in the same place at the same time with the same conditions.
People is gettting around 350Hp at the wheels in the GT3 (stock). With a 15% drivetrain loss (conservative), these car are over 400Hp.

I think the HP numbers for the Ferrari are optimistic and the Porsche underestimated.
I have read somewhere that the Ferrari made 322 rwhp & the Porsche tends to make 350-360 rwhp range, the results should not be a surprise, but we tend to go back to factory claims, which as we have all seen are not always true.
