Default I think I'm done - 04 GT3

Update:
Well, I recently spent about 8 - 10 hours cleaning / prepping / polishing / waxing the car, and have to agree with owner #3.
The car is way too nice to pass onto someone else right now, whether I track it or not.
It looks spectacular and I'll just embrace what I currently have for now.
No longer currently for sale.

Did a mellow track weekend with PCASDR friends a few weekends ago and came to the realization that I was done with track days.

Just a personal decision, no bad vibes or circumstances.

So………………………

Even though this GT3 is the best car I’ve ever owned, I’m getting ready to pass it on to its next owner.

Once sold, I’ll just go slink off into a corner and wait for the right soft, cushy GT4 to come along, and hope the transmission doesn’t fail and the front coilover towers don’t fail, or ……………… (GRIN)

This is an incredibly nice car, fastidiously maintained, rarely driven on the track (DE only) and original except for wear items and a re-cleared hood (see below).

I could go all Mooty on you and show you this picture and just say buy it or not.

But, I’m not Mooty and can't rock his style!

So here is a place holder For Sale advert for the 6 GT3 board only.

In a week or two I’ll remove the paint-on paint protection film

https://www.roadwarriorplus.com/

, put the original wingblade and wheels back on, polish the paint. then take some beauty shots to create a more “proper” for sale advert.

Feel free to reach out via PM or email if you want to discuss.

2004 Porsche GT3 (996).

· Speed Yellow over Black Leather.

· PCCBs.

· 47,XXX miles.

· Fastidiously maintained, by me.

· 8 – 10 DE / TT track days with my friends @ PCA, no one wants to bend their cars, so I drive with them.

· Excellent original paint with the exception of the hood which was spot repaired and re-cleared due to a rock chip down to the primer. No other dents / dings / issues.

· Nearly new condition, color matched, deviated stitching and painted backs, factory sport seats ( car was mostly used with 996 Euro GT3 seats ), so the factory seats are MINT!!!

· Yellow console and gauges.

· Original wheels are in good condition, round, straight, but not concourse level.

Taking that back, after a bit of polishing and waxing. They look GREAT!!
New front and rear tyres too, Yoko AD08R.

Four owners;

· 1st was a Porsche line mechanic, he over-maintained it on the company dime, including having new Rotors and Pads installed @ 26,000 miles just because he could.

· 2nd = Me

· 3rd = A fastidious rennlister who was going to track it, decided it was too nice and turned it into a garage queen.

· 4th = Me

Enhancements include;

· LSD rebuilt with Guards plates / clutches / spacers.

· Coolant pipes re-epoxied and pinned.

· LWF installed along with new 996 Turbo type clutch / Pressure Plate (my left knee is a bit weak so did not go the 4.0 route. Original Clutch / PP / FW included with ~ 42,000 miles.

· Performance alignment, great for grip, not so great for tyre life.

· Lowered ride height and corner balanced.

Maintenance includes;

· Oil changes every year with Mobil 1 5 – 50

· Transaxle oil changes every 2 years with Porsche PTX.

· Coolant changed every two years with the Porsche pink stuff.

· Brake system flushed at least yearly, currently using Motul 650.

· Coolant expansion tank replaced during engine out “pinning”.

· Pretty much every rubber hose replaced during engine out “pinning”.

· Water pump replaced during engine out “pinning”.

· Fuel filter replaced during engine out “pinning”.

· Spark plugs and coil packs changed during engine out “pinning”.

· Lottsa time spent under the car while on the lift cleaning. Very pretty underside.

Other options available at favorable pricing to the discerning buyer;

· Porsche MotorSport GT3 RS rear CF wing blade and CF endplates.

· Iron rotors and appropriate pads, I used these to keep the PCCBs freshy.

· Rays TE37 SL wheels; 8.5” and 11” X 18, bronze but currently plastidipped silver, shod with new Yoko AO52s.

· 996 Euro GT3 seats with Perlon covers.

· Tquipment "roll bar".

· Speedtech aftermarket exhaust with gutted mufflers.

Issues / Stories;

· The radio reception kinda sucks.

· The above mentioned hood repair and re-clear.

Price?

XXXXXXX

None of the "optional" components are for sale separately at this time. First right of refusal goes to the buyer.
So please keep this in mind.

Cheers

LOL...I'm tired of chasing GT4s around too. They are so much easier to drive fast.

Am I the only one to notice your tent matches your car and wheels?

I waffle on this one all the time now that I've got so many kids. But, the car is paid for and not depreciating, so it sits in the garage and gets a driven once in a while. I keep hoping that I'll pick up the track again. Who knows.

Lots of cool weekend cars around! Electrical porsche? Convertible?

Great write up, love the owner count . Seems to have all of the fruit, the right colour and the right sort of owner. This is exactly the kind of 996 GT3 I would look to buy.

The time will come for all of us. I hope you find something that will give you as much satisfaction to fill the void.
I'll spread the word. Looks like a nice car with the right mods. Might get a better price in the Spring. GLWS

Looks like the right car who wants to pickup where you left off in terms of DEs/Track Days. GLWS!

Default The car, the owner....

First rate. The car has been maintained, nearly beyond belief. Believe it! It’s an awesome beast.

Craig, until I bought my Sprinter, I was camping in the paddock (thankfully always on grass). Best way to go. I still get all giggly seeing the opening to Le Mans.

Best of luck. That .1RS is still for sale LOL. Make an offer, regear, and sit back at DE’s and watch the value/smiles increase.
