GT3 Startup decibel test 2 - 20" @45 degrees
I did a little research and it looks like CA has a 95 dB law - measured at 20" from the tailpipe at 45 degrees. I ran this test after the first one.
This startup test measured 107 dB on startup. Cold idle over 100. Good thing I don't live in CA!

No cops with dB meters, that I have ever seen.
If you are an "idiot", and run open pipes, such as cat delete into gutted mufflers, you will draw attention to yourself and **** off your Green neighbors, and most likely get a ticket sooner or later. This is a Big Deal as a ticket for loud exhaust will most likely require a SMOG station inspection....most of these stations are 100% Party Line. They have to be..if they fudge they are liable for huge fines, and will lose their Smog Station license. If you are not 100% stock, this will be duly noted. And the Court will specify that your system be returned to 100% stock, most likely.
Speeding on the freeways, such as the I-405 in LA, in times of lighter traffic (When is this?), many drivers cruise at 80 mph+ ....not enough cops to enforce speed laws. ...in addition, WAZE Navigation users are bring tipped off where the stationary police units are.
I did a mini-rest today using a late model Valentine 1 VS WAZE, driving 300 miles from San Diego to the Central Coast, mostly on I-5. The few times that the Valentine 1 went off, WAZE shouted out a warning at almost the same time, or sometimes earlier. Catching mildly sophisticated speeders is getting tougher and tougher for the CHP.
