Called cantrell, they still make orange 85.
just would like to make sure it's not going to hurt my car in any way (chassis cracks like solid engine mounts can do or anything else).

Asked cantrell, they said they had no issue but can someone confirm OR tell me there is a risk.

Thanks for your help, I appreciate.

this has been discussed since 2004.
if your cables are new

en
it's one of two things.
bad synchro or SLOW down your shifting.

engine mount/tranny mount won't help

I went with function first orange trans mount and RSS engine mount. This combined with cup cables and cup shifter result in hardly ever missing a gear. Good advise above, slow the shift, GT3 box does not like to be treated too harshly, but not too softly either.

by the way from the pics you posted it looks like you have cup shifter too.

I take into consideration what you are saying but wevo seems to have a good reputation on the forum, i will check mine if there is space.

Also Going solid engine mount means strenghten the chassis
IMO that's because people put them in to replace worn out mounts but never remove them to check and see how they are holding up. Take them out and I'd guarantee they are loose. Might not matter for street driving but for flopping the driveline around in a track it for sure makes a difference.

Default Slow(er) shifting is important in 996

Agreed. In 2005 at the Porsche Driving Experience a former factory driver and instructor at the time told us that shifting a Porsche consists of 2 steps1) click to neutral 2) Click to next gear.

That said, when the instructors drove us students on laps, their shifting was almost instantaneous. Same thing with the brakes. They told the students to ease them on, but when the instructors braked, it was like hitting a wall
