Default 2004 GT3

Original owner, garaged kept, never tracked 2004 GT3 will not turn over. Gas gauge reads empty despite adding 10 gallons of fuel. Tried changing relay(s), but not entirely certain of exact relay for fuel pump-local dealer personnel unsure as well. Car turns over as if out of fuel, but will not start. I'm concerned it is the fuel pump, but would like to troubleshoot prior to having it placed on a flatbed to a shop >1 hour away.

Have you checked all the fuses?

If the gauge says empty with 5/7th tank of gas I would be looking at fuses first.

I checked the fuses, but they are not well marked on the GT3. 2 boxes, one near left foot panel, driver's side and the other under covering of driver's side near rear window. Dealer was not helpful.

The dead fuel gauge and no start are clues.

The odds that you have two unrelated failures at the same time is statistically remote.

That assumes that the dead fuel gauge happened at the same time. You didn't say if it was.

You might be able to borrow a fuel pressure gauge from AutoZone. They will loan some of their tools for free. You just need a credit card to do it.

Can you hear the fuel pump pressure up when you first switch on the ignition switch. It usually "hums" for a couple of seconds to build up fuel pressure @ the injectors.
The fuel pump fuse is Row C (third row from the top), Fuse #4 rated @ 25 amp.
Instrument cluster (fuel gauge?) fuse is Row B, Fuse #1.

Thank you Marv & Stephen. I do not hear the fuel pump coming on. Will try the specific fuses listed to see if they match what I tried. Bob

My GT3 fuse box is mounted upside down and, even when corrected, does not match. I replaced all 25 fuses with new ones, even though none were obviously blown. When back in town I'll retrace relay troubleshooting. Am I correct in assuming a bad float, while falsely showing an empty tank (potentially) would not keep the fuel pump or sending unit from running? When turning the key on and trying to start the GT3, there is nothing running at the sending unit/fuel pump (took the cover off & had a friend listen).
