Default 996 GT3 - NASA GTS4/TT2/ST2 Road Racing

Hi rennlist, Introducing the newest #HamfistRacing racer... a 996 GT3. It'll be run with NASA in GTS4 and ST2 and TT2 mostly in the Northeast. The car already has all upgraded suspension links and arms, spherical bushings, sway bars, motons double adjustables, header back exhaust, fabspeed CF intake, cage, halo seat, shifter, euro ABS computer, hawk DTC60/70 F/R, SS brake lines, cool shirt system, aim dash, SFI (SPA?) 10lb fire bottle, and CCWs with Hoosier A7s/R7s 255/315. Keep an eye out for it on northeast tracks in the 2018 season and maybe even at the 2018 NASA Nationals in COTA and at the (new) 2018 SCCA Time Trial Nationals. It'll also see testing duty at local autox where I think it classes to F-Prepared, albeit very overweight for the class, weighing in at 3222 with drive and 3/4 tank of fuel.

Special thanks for our sponsor, HGU A New York Hotel (www.hgunyc.com), a 4 star NYC boutique hotel in the NoMad neighbor of midtown manhattan. (promo code FAST for 25% off people who follow the Hamfist Racing cars).

Wow, great looking build and best of luck. Please keep us updated on how progress goes throughout the season.

I'm dipping my toes into TT this year for the first time starting this weekend at Mid Ohio, also running TT2. I think Martin S. is also starting in TT3 with his car on the west coast this weekend. Seems like the trend here hopefully it all works out for the best.

The TT program is great! I was the Northeast TT Director for 5 years. The program offers great Contingency prizes from Hoosier and other Tire makes, Hawk Performance brakes, and awesome competition! Welcome to TT.

What a cool looking car! I am now slightly biased to blue GT3s . What is the situation with the tail pipes? I assume they are for noise management, but where do the gasses escape??

Driving with NASA SoCal under the watchful eye of Greg Greenbaum MD, has been a great experience. Greg demands good clean driving. If you can't abide by his criteria, then go somewhere else. Trading paint, or car to car contact is absolutely verboten.

Because my car is sort of heavy, and bone stock, I run in TT3. The lower the number, the higher the weight to HP ratio. They come back to Buttonwillow in June; I'll be there.

filter and oil changed. Used a strange oil filter (whatever Bodymotion was using) with a plastic skeleton.

Any tips how to fit a bigger front tire on this car? Maybe 275 or 285? I know some guys worked 285s on the front stretched on stock rims, but I'm looking for the set up to work on a appropriately wide front wheel too. I think these are 9.5x18 and fit the 255 nice but more tire looks like a rub situation on the fender at min. Any decent front flares in the market?

You can do 275s on a 10", ride height 100mm. Here's a wide body chassis 996 but front end tub is the same as the narrow body cars.

Do you know the offsets for your current wheels? That looks pretty tight outside already at those ride heights and cambers. As has been well documented you can fit a 275 on the wider bodies.
