Question Shift Light Indicator ?

I would like to provide some type of shift point/rpm indicator (re: light). I noticed some of the tuners providing this. Don't know any details but would want something small and unobtrusive. Any suggestions? Tnx

I am in the middle of preparing DIY pages for a shiftlight install using either an LED or a factory warning light.

The 993 version is done, I am a week away from having the 986 / 996 / GT3 version done.

I have been thinking about this one with its helmut and/or small three-light remote display option.

How can you ened a shift light? Between sound, feel, and the tachometer if you can't tell when to shift I don't know how you will ever...

I have only seen this done to rice boy honda civic cars and pro drag race cars.

Take a look at a formula 1 or indy steering wheel or even a GTS car, they all have sets of shift lights. You're assuming your the only one on the track. Imagine yourself in the middle of a group of cars all making an ungodly racket all trying to get through a corner together. It is very difficult to get a glimpse of the tach in the middle of all else that's going on. My feeling is it is very comforting to get an indication you are comming up on a shift point. It simply makes life easier and safer.

What is the little thing that looks like a light on the tach next to the 9? I have never seen this actually turn on (if it is a light that is). You can see it in mds' avatar.

that is a sensor for ambient light,

it would be a perfect shiftlight wouldn't it...

anyways, if you want a fast solution, get a G-tech pro.

Probably adjusts instrument lighting based on it. You don't want it too bright when it's dark out because it will ruin your nightvision.
