The latest PET, which includes parts for the RS (option M 003) confirms what Viken has stated above. It lists just one part number, without the M 003 option, for the 1st/2nd shaft for G96.90 and G96.96 gearboxes. For gears 3-6, it does list the M 003 option on the standard ratios (Mk 2 AND RS) and lists an optional part number for 3rd-6th,but the optional ratios are associated with a box called a G96.93.
Conclusion: the Mk2 and the RS have the same designed box for gear interchangability.

This means the literature on the web site is incorrect and should read that gears 3 to 6 are interchangable, NOT 2 to 6.

Accuracy here is same as Porsche's Ceramic Composite Clutch statement in literature posted above.

It seems someone at Porsche who *knows* the cars should proof read their advertising

I wonder if the mainshaft in the pure racing variants has an interchangable second gear?

Craig,

FWIW, I think you meant to type M004 for RS. M003 is the Clubsport option.

Viken-

Does this mean the case for the common mainshaft first and second gears in the GT3 and GT3RS is not closed until we look at an "M004" parts list?

I am not sure as I don't have a complete list for the M004 RS parts.

Viken....You are absolutely correct. I confused M003 and M004. The parts list did say M003, which is the Clubsport option. So I was incorrectly attributing the Clubsport options to the RS.

New conclusion: My previous conclusion was wrong and I only added confusion to the discussion.
